EDUCATOR

Since the age of 14, I have been actively involved in social justice causes. Initially, I believed that my passion for film would require me to leave my community organizing behind. However, I soon discovered that activism could be a powerful tool in education. As a result, I continue to use my skills and experience to help diversify the film industry and empower the next generation of storytellers.

In Partnership with Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, SIFF, Arts Corps, and Reel Grrls, I have been working in Film Education for several years

In February of 2023, I joined the Northwest Film Forum as the Director of Education where I was responsible for creation of new classes, panels, and performances as well as facilitation of workshops, and oversight of long-running programming that focus on the craft of filmmaking. Topics included film theory, mentorships and apprenticeships, filmmaking fundamentals, gear tutorials, screenwriting, analog, and experimental filmmaking.
